Addressing ‘Iran and British colony’ seminar, he added that the US is supporting dictatorial regimes throughout the globe while it chants slogans in support of freedom and democracy.
The Islamic Republic of Iran supports religious democracy, he said, stressing that dictatorship, economic and administrative corruption, and dependence on the West are the three root-causes of the recent public uprisings in the region.
Referring to the British performance in the past two centuries as 'black', Larijani reiterated that the British government is unwilling to publish many of its documents signed during this period particularly those with Iran.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the seminar, the speaker announced that a bill on lowering the level of political relationship with Britain is under study at the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis).
